For Auction: Oliver Laric's 2000 Cliparts (2010)
We’re pleased to announce Oliver Laric’s 2000 Cliparts (2010) will be live for bidding on Folia from 3 April, 9pm CET. Starting reserve price will be 20ETH. Bids will only be accepted for a 24-hour period. If no bids are received within that timeframe, the work will be closed for sale and no bids will be accepted thereafter. Any further inquiries can be directed to: info@folia.app
Important note: after discussions with the artist, 2000 Cliparts will no longer be released as an expanded edition and will be sold as a unique work (1/1). Artist proofs have been burned in the following transactions for AP1 and AP2. And the final work has been minted in this transaction.
2000 Cliparts is currently online and viewable at folia.app
2000 Cliparts is one of Laric’s oldest and most well-known works, with the first iteration appearing in 2006 as 787 Cliparts, which went viral on Youtube. This version is still available and viewable at its original link here, nearly 15 years after its first upload. The hypnotizing Cliparts is one of the most salient examples of Laric’s open source use of imagery: Here, via commercially-available clipart, and later seen more broadly in his ongoing threedscans.com project where he scans and freely-distributes public domain sculptures, among them Reformation-era church artefacts and thousand-year-old Roman bronzes.
